My episode of The Suite Life on Deck will be airing on 11/21/08! This one is called "Flowers and Chocolate." It is a very funny script! We had a great time working that week. I think we went out for yogurt practically everyday after work and on the last night after the live show, we went to the movies and stayed out very late! Be sure to watch!

Hey,
I just wanted everyone to know that I don't have an Official Myspace or Facebook.  So if you are talking to someone on those sites who says they are Sophie Oda.... I'm sorry....  it's really not me you're talking to. =/

Hey all.

I just got back from filming my first episode of Suite Life on Deck and a week-long vacation at Lake Tahoe. I got to work with some of my favorite people who guest starred on The Suite Life of Zack and Cody -- Brittany Curran and Charlie Stewart. I also got to meet some amazing new people from the new show and Kim Rhodes stopped by with her baby! It was so much fun because there was always someone to hang out with on set or off set. We played games, and even had little dance parties. But of course, we did fit in a bit of work here and there. Lol. I don't really want to reveal too much about the episode cause I could easily give it all away. And I wouldn't want to do that, now would I? ;D

The Suite Life of Zack and Cody episode, "Benchwarmers," is set to air soon. Benchwarmers is by far my favorite episode that I've ever been in. But I do want to put out a disclaimer about my hair! In..I think it's the first scene that I apppear in, my bangs are looping off to the side in a really strange-looking way. It's actually my fault and not the hair stylist's fault because I suggested a method that I thought would help keep my hair out of my face, but didn't expect it to turn out quite the way that it did. But eh, it's only hair. But just know that my loopy bangs were not intentional. Lol. But seriously, this is my favorite episode ever so I really hope you all watch and enjoy it!

I am going to be doing a Kabaret for Kids show in August. The show is for children around 4-8 yrs old and I will be co-hosting the show with my good friend Samantha Samuels. There will be lots of singing and a variety of acts, including a magic show!

When: August 2nd
      3:00 PM
Where: Front Row Theatre
       in San Ramon, CA

And one last thing.. I'm currently working on my YouTube channel:

www.youtube.com/sophieoda

So be sure to keep a look out for any new changes that you may see on my channel.

Heyllo.

First of all, I want to apologize for not updating r being active for so long. I cannot tell you how crazy everything has been, especially with my new school situation. This year, I actually skipped my junior and senior years of high school and am currently attending community college. So this past school year, I have been going insane with my college classes and the idea of transferring to a 4-year college. I've already toured a couple and I'm really excited. But seeing as I am still 16, living away from home doesn't seem to be happening for a while. Anyway, I guess I'll worry about that when it comes. But school has definitely taken a ton of my time and I'm sorry for not keeping you posted.

I also went to my junior prom!  Well, it really wasnt mine. I went to my friends' prom. But it was SO much fun. For everyone who's interested..I wore a strapless long blue dress that flared out at the knees and had roucheing all the way down. And my shoes were so glam. They were silver and sparkly and reallyyy pretty. Prom was amazing and I'm so glad I got to go.
I also just visiited the Suite Life On Deck set this last week. The show is hilarious and the jokes are fresh and new and the set is absolutely amazing. And I while I was there, I was really happy to learn that I will be filming my first episode of Suite Life On Deck in a few weeks. I'll still be playing Barbara and I can't wait to see what they've got me doing this time. So the next time I update will be after the filming of the episode. Maybe I'll let you guys in on a little of the storyline(not too much, of course. Gotta keep it a surprise. =P) and I'm sure that I'll have a few funny stories to tell about filming.
And one last thing..although I haven't been updating sophieoda.com lately, I have been continuing to post new videos on my YouTube channel:

www.youtube.com/sophieoda

There are a couple vids that I just filmed this past Memorial Day weekend of me singing at KidsFest. There's a few others of past performances and even one from when I was Annie(that vid is actually really embarassing..lol. So consider yourself special =P).

Anyway. Talk to you guys soon,

Hey all you lovelys.

A couple days ago, I sang at the San Francisco Macy's store. I had so much fun cause I got to sing in the women's shoe department where I could shop and sing at the same time. I also got to meet lots of holiday shoppers after each of my shows. Actually most of the people that I met were shopping for themselves, which we all know is really more fun. Hah. So there are a couple new videos of parts of my performance on my YouTube account.

Go check 'em out! Hope you have an amazing holiday season!

Hey Guyss.

So "Orchestra" aired last night and I thought it turned out
great! I forgot some of the things that happened in the episode, so I was laughing out loud a lot. I was laughing so hard at myself when I
was playing the violin. Besides Cole and his..french horn, I was
the only one who didn't know how to play their instrument. I could
see myself attempting to glance over at everyone else to see which way their bow was going. It was a reallyy fun episode to film. And I seriously loved all the kids in the orchestra. They were a real school orchestra and
were so great at staying in character and were really nice kids too.

I did enjoy the episode, but that was probably the one and only time I will watch the whole thing. I usually watch my episodes once, but I really don't like seeing myself on TV, so I don't tend to watch them again. I just think it's weird. lol.

Next Week, "A Tale of Two Houses" is going to air. Hope you watch!

Ryan hosted the fashion show and he was reallyy entertaining. I tell ya, that boy is hilariousss. And Jared of course is SO charismatic. They wish to always continue helping others and would love for even more people to lend a hand. You can visit www.GomezFamilyFoodDrive.com for more info on how to contribute.

And also, I am currently on the cover of the new October/November issue of Teen Trend.
The magazine includes my Teen Trend interview, too. The spread is really cool so I hope you
check it out! The best way to get your hands on a copy of the mag is by ordering at

I really appreciate the amazing messages and I really do read them, but I'm afraid that I just can't reply to all. They seriously touch me and I definitely do go visit the profiles of everyone
who sends me messages. I hope you will check out my videos and I will be uploading more soon!

Heyy.
Omgsh. I'm soo sorry guys that I haven't blogged in such a ginormous amount of time. School is keeping me SO busy.
I'm taking this really hardcore english class right now and I have to write an essay a week and also 150 words a day for my journal assignment. LOL. Well, I mean NO lol. It's not even funny. It really isn't. It's driving me CRAZYY.
But I want to make sure that I let you guys know that I will be attending the kickoff event for Teen Trend magazine's 2008 Prom Showcase Series, on October 7, 2007, from 2:00-5:00 PM, at the University of Las Vegas Marietta Tiberti Ballroom in Las Vegas. There will be an awesome fashion show featuring all the hottest new prom looks, you'll get a gift bag of really cool stuff, and you can visit lots of local vendors. I know I'm gonna be looking at some shoes! Haha. There will be lots of young performers and a meet-and-greet. It'll be so much fun. There will also be entertainment, and I'll be one of the performers singing!
My friend Hunter Gomez, who I met when we both guest starred in the upcoming episode of Suite Life, "Benchwarmers", will be there with his family kicking off the Gomez Family Food Drive. The Gomez family is really passionate about helping others and they have raised over 100,000 cans of food for families across the country. Hey Everyone!

Wow, this summer has seriously flown by! But isn't that always the case? lol. I had a lot of fun this summer and it was really one of my best. I did a lot of traveling. I got to go to LA, where I hung out with friends and relaxed & I went to Lake Tahoe with my family. One of the highlights of my Tahoe vacation was that I was able to go river rafting for the first time. It was really exciting and exhausting. Our guide would tell us when to paddle, and let me tell you, it was extremely difficult to paddle against the current, when you're facing the wrong way, and you feel like you're gonna fall out of the raft. But still, I had a great time, and I would definitely do it again. There's some new pictures in my Photo Album from Suite Life over the summer. I hope you all had a great summer like I did!

Heyy.

Sorry I haven't updated in FOREVER. Everything has just been SUPER hectic. For the past 2 weeks, I've been at Suite Life filming 2 more episodes. FUNN. However, what was NOT fun, was that my school's finals were also during the last 2 weeks. I had to juggle studying, rehearsing, filming, coming BACK home to take my finals, then going back to LA to do more rehearsing and filming. Not to mention having to prepare a tonn before I left, so that I could arrange things with my teachers. *HUGE sigh of relief* Well, now I'm just so happy it's SUMMERR. I can't wait to just lounge around, hang out with friends, see movies, and go to the beach.

Actually, I think I've done 3 episodes since I last updated. Woow. Sorry about that guys.

1. "A Tale of Two Houses"
This episode shows that Zack and Cody are definitely growing up. And as you might guess, more trouble comes their way.

The last two weeks:

2. "Benchwarmers"
I had so much fun being a cheerleader in this episode with a bunch of other guest stars. Meanwhile, Zack is having some trouble on the basketball team.
We were dancing and moving all week, so I was completely sore. And since I had to take finals, I missed the first day of work, meaning that I had one day of less rehearsal than everyone else. But it was all okay. I practiced the cheers before and after work. I probably looked really weird practicing the arm movements in Pinkberry. Oh, and Pinkberry is this yogurt place that everyone at Suite Life convinced me to try. SO GOOD.

3. "Romancing the Phone"
Guest stars include Jaden Smith, Drew Seeley, William Schellert, Kelsey Chow, June Kyoko Lu, and myself. There were so many amazing people on set.
I seriously fell in love with Jaden. He is just the cutest 8-year-old boy ever. He's so talented and natural. He totally impressed everyone with his paragraph-long lines and karate skills. Oh, and Will Smith and Jada Pinket Smith were also on set. YEAH..I KNOWW. And you bet I got a picture! Haha. The whole family is just completely friendly and supportive of Jaden.

You can go check out some new pictures from all three of those episodes in my album.

SO YEAH. A ton has been going on. OH also, Yesterday I was on a local Bay Area show called The View from the Bay. I sang a song from my Kabaret for Kids CD, and had a brief interview. It was a live show, so they actually had to cut about 3 minutes from my interview. But I was honestly kinda relieved. I get really nervous, especially when I know that everything is LIVE. Here's a link to the video of my segment on the show's website:

And "Graduation" is playing this Saturday, & it's the beginning of the 3rd season. That's the one where I was really, really sick. The day before we filmed it, I had no voice whatsoever. So it was seriously a miracle that my voice came out so well the day of filming.

Well, that was an awfully long blog. I'll be sure to fill you guys in on my summer days!

Hey!
I filmed a Suite Life episode last week and it was a really fun one. It's called "Orchestra". I don't really wanna give too much away, but I did have to learn to fake playing the violin. That was really the hardest part for me. Lol. We had some great guest stars, Max Bugrov, Susan Blakely, and Kyle Sanders. We also had a wonderful school orchestra on the show. They really were amazing to work with.

I don't know if I really want to say much more...I don't want to spoil it! But gah, I hope Cole fans won't hate me! LOL.

AND ALSO! Guess who was filming a Ford commercial next door! ...AMERICAN IDOL. You know, those funny commercials that the contestants do every week. Seriously. And it was so sweet when Chris was just walking by and he stopped to chat with my mom and I. He is really the nicest guy. He didn't have to stop and HUG ME. Yes. He HUGGED me. Hahaha. He's reallyy cute.

It's so funny because I really never get star struck. Anywaysss. Just thought I'd share that moment with you. Afterwards, I went back to set and gushed about it. Haha.

Hope you all get to experience a fan encounter like mine!

Hey guys!

Last weekend I went to the C.A.R.E. Awards at Universal Studios. C.A.R.E. stands for Child Actor Recognition Event. Child actors have gotten kind of a bad reputation of being wild and not caring about school. But really, most kid actors aren't like that. This event was a celebration of those young actors who have been able to work and do what they love, yet still be able to maintain good grades and live normal lives.

It was lots of fun and I got to meet many other kids. I was especially excited for the part where I had to shop for my outfit. Haha. It was a big long process trying to find the perfect dress, but in the end, I was happy with what I had chosen. I like pretty much all styles, so I had a lot to choose from. There's a few new pictures in my photo album for you all to check out.

I also got to hang out at the park after the event. And as I was heading to the entrance, I met the twin boys, Brecken and Bridger Palmer, who are in an upcoming Suite Life episode. Their sister, Jaelin Palmer, is also in some upcoming episodes. Actually, the episode that she will be in, happens to be the same one that I will be in. We just never got to meet each other because we were in different story plots. Lol.

In the park I went on the Jurassic Park water ride, and saw the Special Effects and Waterworld shows. I love theme parks. If I could, I would go to them all the time.

Last weekend was a great way to escape from all my school work and testing back at home. I had to take the CAHSEE, also known as, the California High School Exit Exam. It was just too longgg. I really hate all this testing stuff. It's so grueling and stressful. ..and definitely not my favorite thing to do all day.

Well, I gotta get back to all that school work..=/ Hope you all are staying fabulous!

What's Up Everyonee!

I hope your Valentine's Day was filled with lots of friends and candy!

So I just found out some really surprising, yet exciting news. Well, it was extremely surprising to me, but OH WELL =]. I just learned that I have been nominated for a Young Artist Award. I've been nominated under the Best Actress in a Recurring Role catagory. I was so shocked when I found out last night. I'm really excited and it feels great to have my work recognized. YAY! =]]

Well apart from finding out that awesome info, today was just an average day. Although I am looking forward to the extra long 4-day weekend.

Oh. Of course. I came back from filming another Suite Life episode last week. It was really a lot of fun. But one BIG bummer was that I was totally SICK. It was lame that I had to basically live off of herbal tea and cough drops throughout my 6th Suite Life experience. The first day, my voice was in terrible condition. I could hardly talk, and my speaking voice was actually more of a croaking sound. Haha. Fortunately, by filming day, my voice had REALLY improved. Still, I hardly felt completely healthy. But instead of being distracted by my voice, I was able to actually focus on HOW to say lines. There's a few new pictures in the Suite Life section of my photo album.

Despite my being sick, I still had a great time filming and hanging out with friends on set. Just being there made everything better. I was happy to be with everyone.

Hmm..I think I will make this blog extra long by sharing a funny story. Speaking of Suite Life reminded me of those Sprouses, and then I thought of the time when Cole called me on my cell in the middle of my Chemistry class. Of Course, my chemistry teacher is the only one who REALLY has a big problem with cell phones going off in class. She's nice, but one time, this kid's phone rang, and she ANSWERED it. She was actually having a conversation with the woman during class, in front of the class. My teacher told the woman that she was the boy's chemistry teacher. Then, after listening to the woman's reason for calling, my teacher asked the boy what he wanted for lunch. ...UH. Boy would that have been weird if she had answered MY phone and heard Cole Sprouse on the other end! Hahah. Just thinking about it makes me crack up. LUCKILY, I was sitting in the back, and my phone was on low volume. I was able to...hang up..on Cole before my ringtone of "Push it" by Corbin Bleu was heard by my teacher. Hahah. Yes. I hung up on him. Lol. Later, I told Cole that I was sorry and briefly explained the ordeal. But it was actually just a really funny incident.

AND THE MORAL OF THIS STORY IS..Turn off your phones in class. If the President calls, he will just have to leave a message.

A couple of days ago, I was asked to return to The Suite Life of Zack and Cody for an episode in their 3rd season. It's called "Graduation". I've read the script, and it looks like it's going to be another great episode. It will be filming the week of February 5th and I'm really excited. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone again. Honestly, that might be the best part of working on Suite Life. The whole cast and crew is made up of amazing people. I feel so lucky.

Also, I wanted to say thanks to Mariah, the creator of
Seriously Sophie, a fansite about me. I really appreciate you taking the time out to make it. Thank you so much. I will pop in occasionally to answer any questions as best as I can, and as always, I love to hear what other kids have to say. My username is cleverly named, sophie. Lol.

It feels kind of funny saying that I have a 'fan'site, let alone "fans".  It's almost unreal. Like maybe people are just saying that. Sometimes people come up to me after I perform in benefits or stage productions, and tell me that they are such fans of mine. It's really very flattering, and at the same time, hard to believe. Maybe that's because I feel like I'm just a normal kid, who does what she does, only because she loves it. It's cool, but weird getting recognized for it.

Thanks and I will keep everyone updated on the new fun things that are happening! Oh and by the way, go and check out a new picture of my lovely doggies!
                                                 ~Sophie <3

The Suite Life of Zack and Cody episode, "Club Twin", first aired last weekend. I hope you all caught it and enjoyed it! The episode was so much fun to film. The 60's scene was especially crazy. It took FOREVER to film, but it was all worth it.

Originally, the "soda" that I had to drink, was going to be shown with pretzels and other stuff in it. And I was supposed to drink it! Eww. Still, I would have done it, but that idea ended up not working out. I was glad that I only had to drink water. Though, I did splash water all over my face a couple of times when I tried to down it. Haha.

I had a lot of fun watching this episode. Although I don't particularly like to watch myself, I enjoyed watching my friends. Everyone really came together and made the episode great. And I must commend all of the extras. They worked their butts off dancing for so long. We did the club scenes so many times, but they still kept the energy going. I think "Club Twin" turned out great. I thoroughly enjoyed it and I hope you did too! =]

So right now, I'm in a musical. It's Disney's High School Musical where I play Gabriella Montez! It's an amazing show on stage. There are a few new songs that aren't in the movie and they're so much fun.

You know, when I first got into this show, I thought the music and the whole show would be generally easy compared to some other really extravagant musicals that I have been in. I was completely wrong. This might be the one of the most demanding shows I've ever been in. It takes a lot of energy and stamina to get through one show. But, our cast is wonderful and we all love each other so much. Its great to have such a loving cast (or, as I like to think of it, the HSM family) who won't hesitate to help anyone out with a certain dance move or harmony.

Please keep in mind that the stage version of High School Musical is a little different from the movie. It was written for theatre, so it's not an exact copy of what you see on TV. There are new songs, revised lines, different dances, and great ensemble numbers.
I absolutely love this show, and although the High School Musical that I'm in is the premiere in my area, I've heard that it will be playing at many other theatres very soon after mine closes. So wherever you are, don't miss a chance to go see it live on stage!

Hey Everyone!

Well, I'm so excited for my new official website! I hope you guys like it as much as I do! Just so you know, this is my little blog/update section. It's where I can tell you what's new in my own words.

Many of you know that I have filmed a few "The Suite Life of Zack and Cody" episodes. And in addition to those, over the summer, I filmed two more episodes called Club Twin and Miniature Golf. They were so much fun to work on. I just had a blast hanging out with my Suite Life buddies for two whole weeks.

In Club Twin, Zack and Cody open up a teen club at the Tipton. After the club fails the first night, Zack takes over and makes the club a huge success. But then after that, everything goes downhill. The recurring guest cast included, me(as Barbara), Charlie Stewart(as Bob), Allie Grant(as Agnes), and Alyson Stoner(as Max). It was so much fun when we all had to dress up in 60's gear. We were decked out in platform shoes, hippie headbands, and rockin shades. So I, and a few other cast members, may seem a bit taller, due to the height of our shoes. Haha. Also, in that episode, my character, Barbara, kisses Cody. It's not exactly a romantic moment--more like a very random moment, but I still think it was really cute. Haha. Since that was my first on-screen kiss ever, I was extremely nervous, but Cole actually calmed my nerves, so I felt more comfortable. It was better knowing that it was him and not someone I'd never met before.

The kiss in Club Twin is really the beginning of Cody and Barbara's relationship. So in Miniature Golf, they go on a double date with Zack and his date, Ella(played by Alicia Favela). The episode is about Zack overcoming his having a problem with a girl beating him at a game. I must say, Dylan was sooo funny. He really played up the fact that Zack could not stand to lose to a girl. Alicia and I had difficulty keeping straight faces during rehearsal. It was also so cool because the amazing team actually built a miniature golf course. There were hippos, pirates, and tiki torches. And while we were waiting around, Dylan, Cole, Alicia, and I were really playing mini golf on the set. Some of us were actually getting some hole-in-ones! Pretty good I thought! Haha.

I can't wait for them to air, and I really hope you guys like them! So be sure to keep an eye out for Club Twin and Miniature Golf and continue to watch The Suite Life of Zack and Cody!

                                                                        ~Sophie <3

Kabaret for Kids is a fun show for young kids!  I recorded 4 songs for the CD available for purchase now.  My recordings are #4 Piano Man, #7 Good Things Get Better Whenever There's Two, #10 Add A Little Smile, and #13 Hey-Yippi-i-Hi-Hoedown.
